Today, Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q is celebrating the birthday of Charlotte Nelson, who was head chef at the restaurant before she lost her battle with stage four inflammatory breast cancer in February.

In Nelson’s honor, the restaurant will be donating 20%  of sales to The Giving Kitchen, a foundation that helps service industry workers with medical bills.

On Saturday, Atlantic Station hosts the ‘People’s Fest’ Concert Festival to celebrate the launch of the People’s Food Truck to Benefit City of Refuge, an organization dedicated to community development in under served Atlanta neighborhoods.

The main event is a 6 p.m. concert featuring Marc Broussard, Sonia Leigh, Ben Deignan and Jameson Elder.  A 4 p.m. VIP bash will be hosted by chef Shaun Doty of Bantam & Biddy and Chick-a-Biddy. VIP tickets include live music, a chef’s challenge, drinks, food tastings from the People’s Truck menu created by chef Ford Fry, and access to a VIP viewing area for the concert.

On Monday, Empire State South is hosting another Giving Kitchen event, dubbed Gojira Attacks Atlanta!

The big as Godzilla late-night Japanese kitchen invasion will feature chefs from Atlanta and Nashville, including ESS’s Ryan Smith and Joli Kobe’s Mihoko Obunai, setting up on the bocce court to serve small plates ($12) of Asian-inspired goodies. Food is available in limited quantities, but the bar will be open until last call.
